One Marathon Down!

We did our first big run! Alex ran the full Toronto Scotiabank Marathon, and I ran the half. We both got our goal times, Alex was under 4 hours, and I ran in before him doing the half! Just Kidding, I did it in 2 hours. It was a fun run! We wanted to thank everyone who has supported us this far, and for the donations. We are really excited for our next run, and we will keep updating our thermometer at the bottom!

Advance Africa

Advance Africa is an organization based in Nairobi, Kenya. They provide help in many different areas, including: medical, education, orphanages, and infrastructure. The medical needs in Kenya are vast, and Advance Africa is working to provide much needed medical care to the people of Kenya. They are helping a wide range of medical facilities, from hospitals to clinics in the slums and maternity care.

One of Advance Africa's main priorities is ensuring that children with poor economic standing and/or are orphans receive proper education. This includes in the classroom, along with educating children and the public about HIV and AIDS. Education is the first step in eliminating poverty and is something all children should have the opportunity to receive.

We will be working with Advance Africa in clinics in the slums Nairobi. We will be assisting the nurses and doctors of the clinic with births, suturing, basic aid, pediatric and newborn care. We will be helping provide medical care that every person in Kenya deserves but may not have access to. Advance Africa is an amazing organization doing incredible things in Kenya, we are very excited to have the opportunity to help them in every way we can.
